Retail Gift Card Association Announces New Leadership, Members

The Retail Gift Card Association (RGCA), the only non-profit trade organization representing the closed-loop gift card industry, today announced Erin Wood of Subway® restaurants has assumed the role of board of directors chair, and Marina Hodges of Walmart has been appointed vice chair. The organization also announced the addition of 13 of the world’s most recognizable brands to its impressive membership list.

This announcement comes after Colleen Dorwart, formerly of Cabela’s, stepped down as chair after taking on a new role in the industry, and after having led the RGCA to a record-breaking year. Rounding out the new RGCA executive committee is Tim Anderson of AMC Theatres as treasurer, along with Timm Walsh of Regal Cinemas as chair emeritus.

More than 90 RGCA member brands work collaboratively to protect, promote and enhance the use of retail gift cards as forms of branded currency and stored value solutions that enable, enrich, and encourage commerce in today’s digital age. Members collectively fuel consumer confidence in the industry, evolve best practices for gift card programs, and optimize emerging opportunities to meet contextual commerce demand.

Members are eligible to participate in ongoing, year-round continuing education events and have access to exclusive resources that empower their brands with the most up-to-date information about stored value and gift card trends.

The RGCA’s new members, including prestigious retailers and gift card industry stakeholders, are:

  •     Atom Tickets
  •     Buyatab Online Inc.
  •     CPS Cards
  •     Great Lakes Scrip Center
  •     HBC
  •     Marketing Innovators
  •     Neenah, Inc.
  •     Orvis
  •     RetailMeNot
  •     Shell Gift Card
  •     SVM
  •     Teraco

“Our new chair and vice chair have served the RGCA for years and bring invaluable experience — we’re thrilled to announce these industry powerhouses will take on new roles in the organization,” said Russell A. Lemieux, RGCA executive director. “We’re also excited to add several innovative companies to our growing membership. Adding these new brands to our roster helps us continue to unite the gift card industry with the purpose of creating positive gift card and stored value experiences for consumers, taking gift card programs to the next level.”
