Warren Humphries, Gift Marketing Manager for Ticketmaster talks to I&M

When did you join the company, what is your background?

I joined Ticketmaster in November 2013 from Cineworld where I managed their corporate sales and partnerships (having started there years ago serving popcorn!). The company gave me a fantastic opportunity to build networks with large scale clients including Tesco and The Times. So, I bring to Ticketmaster a huge experience of sales promotions, advertising, running gift card programmes for consumers, businesses and loyalty programmes.

What is the biggest challenge that you face in your role?

We have a focus within the business this year to connect with B2B partners as part of our gift card Programme. I’m under pressure to drive this strategy forward but fortunately growing gift card sales is an aspect of my job that I really enjoy. We also need to get the message out there that the Ticketmaster gift card really is an exciting purchase.

What is the USP of the Ticketmaster B2B offering?

Having a Ticketmaster gift card gives the holder access to over 4,000 live events across the UK. We currently offer a corporate discount structure using physical cards for our partners, or digital cards that can be merged into cobranded pdfs.

What are your future plans for the business?

We need to drive awareness of our corporate offering, so at the moment the focus is all about getting the word out and connecting with potential partners. Ticketmaster gift cards are a great reward to use as part of a sales
promotion and it’s this message that we need to communicate particularly within the B2B space. We’re looking ahead to co-branded gift cards which will be a great asset. We are also looking at enabling online ordering for the B2B market. We are particularly pleased to announce that we will be working with Tesco Clubcard and Edenred over the forthcoming months.

Why do Ticketmaster gift-cards make a good employee reward?

Ticketmaster gift cards can be redeemed against any of the 4,000+ live events that we sell for. Where cashback incentives maybe easily forgotten, using a Ticketmaster gift card to attend an event that you are passionate about
creates memories that can last a lifetime. It’s an attractive proposition that is easily saleable and marketable. It’s a point of differentiation. Cardholders can redeem against anything from amazing festivals like V and Calling to West End musicals Wicked and The Lion King, sports events including World Club Sevens rugby and tours of prestigious locations like Wembley Stadium.
