Businesses in London are seeking employee engagement specialists as firms seek to maintain cohesiveness while working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to new analysis from the Association of Professional Staffing Companies (APSCo), the trade association for the recruitment sector. The data, provided by business intelligence specialist Vacancysoft, revealed that HR vacancies made up 5.2% of all hiring in London. The information also highlighted that despite the current challenges posed by the coronavirus lockdown, pockets of recruitment remain, with IT and technology experts also in demand as businesses aim to manage remote working. Commenting on the data, Ann Swain, CEO of APSCo comments: “While the coronavirus has meant that many firms have slowed down hiring – it has by no means stopped. The fact that HR professionals with employee engagement experience are in demand, along with skills across tech and IT, is encouraging during these testing times, and a sign that employers are determined to make sure employees can work from home productively.” James Chaplin, CEO of Vacancysoft, commented “COVID-19 continues to damage to the nation’s economic health, and needless to say, the professional recruitment sector. However, from our data, it’s clear that there is still some hiring taking place. As the lockdown continues, and we adjust to the ‘new normal’, there is no doubt that many positions will still need to be filled, making innovative talent strategies more important than ever.” Post navigation Coronavirus-hit organisations lean on legal and HR experts to help them survive Prior to COVID-19 A Third of Brits Spend Just Two Hours a Week on Hobbies
