Florian Gerdes, Marketing Manager Conventions at Hamburg Convention Bureau, explains:

“The addition of 15 hotels in Germany’s second largest city not only adds up to over 2,696 rooms, and a substantial investment in our city, it also represents a huge amount of choice for meeting and event planners. From major 5 and 4 star names through to quirky boutique hotels, they are set to offer top notch accommodation and meeting spaces in key locations throughout the city including near to the airport, Congress Center Hamburg and the iconic River Elbe.

“Heightened demand among business and leisure travellers is prompting interest among investors, and up to 30 new hotels are due to open by 2019 – an investment of around one billion euros.”
