News Leasing Options to launch Fitbit wellness community within its business Manchester-based vehicle leasing company Leasing Options has announced plans to build a Fitbit wellness community within its business in 2016. The company will be supplying each of its employees with a Fitbit Flex wristband to track steps, distance, and calories burned. The new employee benefit will be rolled out initially to 53 members of staff, with the company purchasing the Fitbit Flex for each employee, totalling an initial investment circa £5,000. The main goal for this new initiative is to improve the general wellbeing of staff; and make employees more productive and less stressed in and out of work. As well as monitoring steps and calories burned during the working day, the Fitbit Flex wristband can also track the user’s sleep cycle and can even wake them silently in the morning. Users can access their individual stats anytime on their computer, tablet or smartphone – both on the iPhone and Android operating systems. Leasing Options plans to build a community with staff and any partners who may be interested in participating. The new wellness community will stretch across direct family and friends of the staff, as well as representatives and account managers from other businesses they deal with. The aim of expanding the wellness community across both internal and external businesses is to engender stronger relationships, while helping the community grow organically. The brand new initiative also aims to help the business by developing healthy competition through the creation of leader boards and leagues, where employees can work together or individually to outperform their colleagues. Nigel Brain from Leasing Options said: “We are a caring company and want to kick-off the new year encouraging our staff to live healthier lives, while supporting and helping them focus on their fitness goals with this donation of the Fitbit technology and support. “This new employee benefit, along with further ongoing focus and incentives from the company, will help expand relationships and also improve health and productivity within the organisation. We aim to encourage participation from all our employees by introducing a competitive element across the business.” With 100% take-up and engagement from staff throughout the business, employees are hoping it will support them to enjoy and develop a healthier lifestyle.
