Features Prepaid Awards 2012 A glittering awards ceremony saw both triumph and dashed hopes for the finalists of the Prepaid Awards 2012. Hundreds of prepaid industry professionals from across the world gathered in London in October for the prestigious Prepaid Awards. Now in its fifth year, the event saw prizes awarded in no less than 17 categories, covering both UK and global operators that an independent panel of judges felt had demonstrated cutting-edge innovation or achieved industry-leading success in the previous 12 months. The event, staged at the Lancaster Hotel in Hyde Park, saw over 500 industry faces coming together, including representatives from no fewer than 57 companies who made the various shortlist. The awards ceremony followed a full day’s agenda of industry insight during the Prepaid Conference. Among the big winners on the night was PrePay Solutions, one of Europe’s leading prepaid services companies, who not only won two major awards in its own right, but also provided processing support to Debenhams’ award-winning gift cards. A large number of the international finalists present at the event had successfully come through a rigorous programme of regional ceremonies staged throughout the year in South Africa, India and Canada.
