Virgin Experience Days have scooped the award for ‘Best Digital Performance’ at the 2017 national Direct Commerce Awards. The awards give recognition of business excellence for organisations engaged in direct to-customer retailing across traditional and newly emerging channels. Now in its 19th year, the awards, held at London’s Hurlingham Club, celebrate the best of the UK’s ecommerce sector and the ‘Best Digital Performance’ award recognised the work involved in the complete re-build and design of the Virgin Experience Days web site which re-launched late last year. The award recognised the project undertaken to build a more flexible, responsive site to showcase the Virgin Experience Days collection and create a more intuitive buying experience for customers on all platforms. 5 News anchor and journalist, Matt Barbet, presented the awards and other retailers at the event included The White Company, Boden, Joe Brown, Brand Alley and OKA Direct, with Best Overall Business 2017 named as JoJo Maman Bebe and a Lifetime Achievement given toDara O’Malley. Virgin Experience Days was launched in March 2001 under the name of Virgin Experience. Originally offering experiences to corporate clients as a way of incentivising staff and customers, the company rapidly expanded to bring the Virgin values of quality, innovation, value for money and fun to the consumer experience gift market. Their range includes a huge range of events, including Wembley Stadium Tours, Belly Dancing Experiences, Racing Car Simulator Experiences and much more.
