News Another successful year for the Manchester HR Summit After 10 successful years running HR Summits, 2013 saw the launch of our Manchester HR Summit. Now 4 years in, the event has gone from strength to strength, firmly establishing its position as market leader. Taking place on February 11th at The Midland Hotel, the event brought the industry together to discuss business solutions through a series of match made face-to-face meetings. With a comprehensive seminar programme and endless networking opportunities; the Manchester HR Summit undeniably provides the ideal platform for industry professionals to build upon their network and expertise within the ever-changing industry. Differing to trade shows and exhibitions, the Manchester HR Summit is significantly smaller in size focusing on quality over quantity. Handpicking the most sought-after senior decision-makers and product and service providers in the industry; the event is “organised to perfection,” aptly described by Leopold Healthy Ltd. Avoiding the hustle and bustle of a trade show; the event ensures attendees leave armed with a wealth of relevant business contacts. The event’s guest list is therefore, unsurprisingly, packed with some of the biggest household names including Axis Group Integrated Services, BAE Systems, Co-Op, HomeServe, Network Rail, Sainsbury’s, Swinton Insurance, Thomas Cook Airlines, as well as many others. Carefully selected based upon the requirements of attending delegates, our suppliers provide a broad range of popular products and services including absence management, change management, employment law, people performance, talent management and many more. This year, we hosted the likes of ADP Employer Services, Frontier Software, Halogen Software, Hay Group, Medicash Health Benefits, MidlandHR, Reed Online, TalentQ, alongside many others. Over the course of just one day; each attendee gets their own personalised itinerary packed with pre-arranged face-to-face meetings, interactive seminars with some of the industry’s top players and last but not least, endless networking opportunities. Offering practical solutions to problems within the realm of HR; the Manchester HR Summit ensures attendees are fully aware of the latest industry advances through its expansive seminar programme. Opening this year’s event with a choice of two seminars; the first, presented by Dave Doughty, Director of International HR Development at the Nottingham Business School examining the changing role of universities and their role in supporting business and industry. The second hosted by David Miller, CEO of Changefirst and change management expert. David hosted an insightful group session on business strategies and how HR departments in organisations need to support organisations in today’s newly disruptive world. Both Dave and David did a fantastic job at mentally preparing us for a busy day ahead and before we knew it, it was time for our renowned face-to-face meetings. Recognising the importance for businesses to have a good working relationship with their product and service suppliers; our Manchester HR Summit uses a unique formula to match like-minded delegates and suppliers together for a series of face-to-face meetings. A key component of our core philosophy; our coveted face-to-face meetings provide the opportunity to network on a personal level as confirmed by Roffey Park Institute, describing our concept of face-to-face meetings as “focused and purposeful, with people who are looking to do business.” With a handful of relaxed networking opportunities over coffee breaks and a delicious lunch; the Manchester HR Summit gives delegates and suppliers the opportunity to get to know each other that little bit better; helping to establish a positive relationship between both parties from the get-go. After a networking lunch; it was time for another set of face-to-face meetings. A lot of positive interaction went on during the final business meetings of the day with many suppliers confident of securing business through their meetings. Finally, bringing the event to a close, we were lucky enough to sit in on a seminar presented by Tom Quayle, Head of Product at The Chemistry Group. Tom hosted an insightful seminar discussing human performance in work environments. After another productive day; the Manchester HR Summit was once again a huge success. Well-attended by some of the industry’s biggest names, the Summit has no doubt become the ideal place for HR professionals to get their fix on the latest industry news and innovations. With face-to-face meetings, seminars and networking – the Manchester HR Summit has established itself as an unparalleled platform to learn, share, network and engage amongst the industry’s best. Portfolio Sales Manager, Frances Lee comments; “This year’s Summit has once again brought together serious HR buyers with leading solution providers for an exclusive day of meetings and networking.
